Materials in Many Languages

The Andrew Heiskell Library has Spanish language cassette books for eligible patrons of all ages. These cassettes are produced by the National Library Serivce (NLS) and are listed in the NLS bimonthly catalog Talking Book Topics. This is an ever-growing collection consisted primarily of translations of popular English language fiction and non-fiction.

A number of magazines in languages other than English are also available in cassette for registered patrons. Contact the library to request any of these magazines.

• Das Beste aus Reader's Digest (German edition of Reader's Digest, 10 issues per year)
• Buena Vida (a Spanish language hygiene and fitness monthly publication)
• Buenhogar (a monthly Spanish language home and beauty magazine)
• Journal Français (French language monthly magazine on Franco-American culture)
• People en Español (Spanish edition of People, weekly)
• Selecciones del Reader's Digest (Spanish edition of Reader's Digest, monthly)
• Sélections du Reader's Digest (French edition of Reader's Digest, monthly)

The library also has a small collection of commercial Russian language cassettes, special collections of cassette books in other languages, and language instruction cassettes. In addition, recorded and braille books in many other languages are available through various agencies.
