Holiday Closing

Spanish Large Print Books

The library now has a collection of large print books in Spanish. These books may be borrowed in person with a New York Public Library card and may be reserved for pick up at any branch of The New York Public Library in the Bronx, Manhattan, or Staten Island.

Upcoming Programs

Web Design Program

Could you use some practical advice about making web content work for you? Then Accessibility Unplugged on September 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m., is for you. Bud Kraus of TryNet, Inc., who also teaches HTML and Web Design at Pratt Institute, will explore accessible web design as well as its themes. He’ll also provide valuable information on how to evaluate sites and make content accessible. For more information, please call or email the library. Admission is free, but seating is limited.

Book Sale

Our annual three-day book sale will be held on:
  • Thursday, September 30, 2004, from 12:00-6:00 p.m.
  • Friday, October 1, 2004 from 12:00-4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 2, 2004 from 1:00-4:30 p.m.

Oodles of books to choose from, especially large print. Some audiobooks will be available for purchase. Come early for the best selections! Admission is free.

Museum Visit

The Library is pleased to announce a new series of visits to New York museums, specially geared to people who are blind or who have visual impairments. Our next visit will be at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on November 10, 2004. More information will be posted when it's available.
