December Holiday Closings

The library will be closed on Friday, December 24, and Saturday, December 25, 2004, for Christmas. You will still be able to call and leave VoiceMail messages on those days and someone will return your call as soon as possible. Be sure to speak clearly and leave your name and telephone number.

Upcoming Book Discussion Group Selections

The next session will be Thursday, December 2, 2004, at 5:30 p.m., when we'll be discussing Blessings by Anna Quindlen, RC 54938 and BR 14393 .

The reading for January 2005 will be The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, RC 46882 and BR 11745; for February 2005, the selection will be The Bonesetter’s Daughter by Amy Tan, RC 51557; for March, it will be City of God by E.L. Doctorow, RC 49517.

Upcoming Music Programs

Join us for these entertaining concerts in December:

On Saturday, December 4, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., the Susy Schwartz Trio — featuring Klaus Mueller on piano, Vanderlei Pereira on drums, and Ms. Schwartz on flute — will excite your senses with the sensual sounds of Brazilian instrumental music.

On Saturday, December 11, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., singer Grace Garland, who has shared billing with such luminaries as Grammy Award-winning songwriter Julie Gold and jazz flutist Bobbi Humphrey, will perform at the library, accompanied by guitarist Andrei Ryabov.
