New Magazine for Teens

Teen People ceased publication. In its place, the National Library Service has selected Odyssey, "the science magazine for young adventurers." This magazine for teens will be produced on cassette. If you're registered with the Andrew Heiskell Library and would like to receive this magazine, please contact the library by calling 212-206-5400.

Braille Tax Forms

Visually impaired and blind taxpayers may visit the accessibility page at www.irs.gov/accessibility/index.html for a list of accessible tax products available by download.

Maintenance of the Online Catalog

Internet Problems

The Andrew Heiskell Library has been having intermittent problems connecting to the internet, including the public access computers, as of yesterday, February 15. We hope to have the problem resolved soon and are sorry for any inconvenience.

Contact the library to see if any title you find on one of these sites is available in braille or talking book cassettes, or in large print at New York Public Library branches.

VoiceMail Disruption Resolved

Some of you may have had problems in the last week accessing the library's VoiceMail. We apologize for any incovenience. Changes have been made to the system handling the calls and it is back in operation, although we are still working to get the welcome announcement back. Thank you for your patience.

Holiday Closing and Catalog Maintenance

The library's online PAWS Catalog will be down for approximately 2 hours on Saturday, February 17, 2007, starting at 6:00 p.m. for maintenance.

The library and all branches of The New York Public Library will be closed on Monday, February 19, 2007 for Presidents' Day. You may leave a message during that day and someone will return your call as soon as possible on Tuesday. Please be sure to give your name, spelling your last name, your address, and your phone number along with your request.
